The 2011 SARA Southeast Regional Conference is planned for Saturday October 22 at Tamke-Allan Observatory, 35 miles west of Knoxville, Tennessee. Members are invited to present papers on radio astronomy hardware, radio astronomy software, search strategies, astrophysics, planetary science, data reduction and analysis, and radio astronomy education. Demonstrations will be most welcome. The conference theme is "Moving Ahead in Radio Astronomy" and Chuck Higgins, radio astronomer and member of the NASA Radio Jove Team, will be our keynote speaker.

Check the SARA website (http://www.radio-astronomy.org/node/100)for details as they develop, and send questions to regional@radio-astronomy.org . You will probably want to arrive the night of October 21, enjoy the meeting and evening events on Oct. 22 and stay nearby for Sunday morning breakfast at the conference motel. We have arranged for a SARA conference rate of $69.95 per king/double room, including full breakfast at the Comfort Inn [865.882.6600] (no pets or smoking). Pets are permitted at some other local motels, if you want to travel with Fifo or fluffy little QRN.
