Abstract: The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) enables forefront research into the Universe at radio wavelengths and operates a complementary, state-of-the-art suite of four radio telescope facilities and instrumentation for use by the scientific community, regardless of institutional or national affiliation, including: (a) the international Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile;

SARA Represented at Nation’s Largest STEM Event

The Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) participated in the 4th USA Science & Engineering Festival, the largest Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education event of its kind in the United States.

SARA Western Regional Conference in Prescott, Arizona

The Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) announces a regional conference will be held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona March 11 to 13, 2016. SARA member Ray Fobes is a Staff Radio Astronomer at the University and is coordinating the event. He can be reached by e-mail at westernconference_at_radio-astronomy_dot_org.

Keynote Speaker Announcement

Vice President Tom Hagen is pleased to announce that Lory Wingate from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) has agreed to be the Keynote Speaker at the 2016 Annual SARA Conference to be held July 10 to 13 at the NRAO in Green Bank, WV.

Call for Papers: SARA Western Regional Conference

The Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) hereby solicits papers for presentation at its 2017 Western Regional Conference, to be held March 17 to 19, 2017 at the Very Large Array in Socorro, New Mexico. Papers on radio astronomy hardware, software, education, research strategies, observations and philosophy are welcome.
